IN PAIN

These drawings are my starting point to investigate and articulate the subject of pain in relation to the Viking Energy Wind Farm (VEWF) in Shetland, United Kingdom. They are arranged chronologically from when I began working on the project in March 2021. The landscape in Shetland is in a constant state of injury, wounding and destruction as a result of the construction of this wind farm. Through these drawings I am  exploring the wind farm construction  as a metaphor for the body in pain, scarring, and wounding, both physically and emotionally.

I will be adding drawings, or films, fairly regularly. I am interested in photographs and drone footage that is taken by other people because I can't get out as often as I'd like to take photographs. Please contact me if you would be interested to share your photos with me and would consent to me drawing on them.  I will credit anyone whose photographs I use.
